Join Surf The Earth in this unique one of a kind fitness experience. This trip is designed for those looking to expand their yoga experience on a spectacular secluded beach. Surf The Earth paddleboard instructor Deanna Benston along with YOGA instructor Angela Jones lead you on a 2 hour workout which includes paddleboarding to a secluded beach, a core focused YOGA routine, and ending with a strong paddle back to the landing.

Bike to the Boardwalk
Bike through Hobcaw’s forest to the Reserve’s beautiful salt marsh boardwalk on North Inlet. Ride 2.5 miles (each way) on gravel roads to experience a leisurely salt marsh exploration. Upland forest habitats, wildlife, salt marsh ecology, and a variety of other topics will be discussed during the trip. Bring your own bike (all terrain tires recommended), helmet, snack, water, camera, and binoculars (if desired).

Paddle North Inlet
Join Reserve and Surf the Earth staff for a naturalist-guided tour through the creeks of North Inlet. This program includes instruction in basic kayaking, a natural history overview, and educational highlights of the North Inlet ecosystem. Fee includes kayak, paddle, personal floatation device, and water. Bring snack, camera, binoculars, and wear sturdy shoes.

Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art
Held in the South Carolina low country, the Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create and enhance cultural awareness while enriching the quality of life for residents and visitors alike by providing quality performances, programs, and educational opportunities in music and the arts.
The 2010 Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art will be held September 21 – October 3. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Festival that was founded by Dr. Lee Minton in 1991. The festival will kick off with the coveted Wine Gala fundraiser on Friday, September 24, followed by 2 weeks of both visual and performing arts from across the nation. Headlining the Festival this year will Steve March Torme, son of legendary jazz vocalist Mel Torme. Other acts include Cool John Ferguson, Marco Sartor, Judy Carmichael and the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra. Also, this year the Festival introduces a taste of Visual Arts. A Film Festival held in conjunction with Coastal Carolina University, Chalk Under the Oaks with a workshop by renowned street artist, Lee Jones, as well as a Gallery Crawl featuring trolley rides to area galleries are some of the Visual Art highlights. The finale will be held Sunday, October 3 featuring the Grand Strand Theatrical Youth Players. Children and adults of all ages will delight in this exciting and memorable performance. National Estuaries Day Open House
National Estuaries Day is an annual celebration of our beautiful and vital estuarine ecosystems. Established in 1988 as a part of Coast Weeks, Estuaries Day is celebrated in September and promotes the importance of estuaries and the need to protect them. This year the NI-WB NERR will be celebrating our estuaries at the Hobcaw Barony Discovery Center on Saturday, September 25. Join us for a day of activities for all ages including tours of the Discovery Center and the North Inlet Estuary, fish feedings, touchtank presentations, and microscope identification.
